Meet Seiji Shiraishi –Treasurer and Director of Finance & Accounting

When Seiji Shiraishi was 39, he was running the financial operations of a small risk management firm which was purchased by Assurant, Inc, a Fortune 500 company. While also attending school part-time to earn his MBA, he cared for his 4-year-old daughter, Karina, and 36-year-old wife Cristina was eight months pregnant with their second child, Oliver, when she was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer which took her life away four years later.

“It was a lot, but I had no choice,” Shiraishi said. “I needed to provide and care for my family.”

So Shiraishi knows all about time management and making the best use of resources, two skills he applies every day as the Treasurer and Director of Finance and Accounting for InCharge.

The Accounting Team is focused on monitoring the daily cash balances and managing the organization’s funds and revenue streams.

“Doing the things that keep businesses running on a daily basis,” Shiraishi said.

The Financial Data Analytics Team is ever developing. It collects information from many areas and uses it to help predict the success or failure of a segment of the business. That includes not only new areas of business that InCharge may want to get involved in, but also parts of the business already up and running.

The department recently welcomed a certified data scientist.

“What’s fun about accounting and financial data analytics is that if you fully understand the financial statements and the data behind them, you really have a pulse on the health of the organization,” Shiraishi said. “You can help guide the company strategically. The key ingredient to our success is our great team.”

Shiraishi gets inspiration from his kids, unconditional support from his new wife Cigdem, and celebrates life in honor of Cristina.
